Scotland will play their first pool match of the Rugby World Cup 2023 against South Africa on 10 September 2023 at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille.
In the pool stages of the Rugby World Cups in 1999 and 2015, Scotland and South Africa faced up against one another twice. In 1999, the Springboks defeated the Scots 46-29 at Murrayfield; in 2015, they defeated them at St. James' Park and the score was 34-16.
Since their first meeting in 1906, Scotland and South Africa have played each other 28 times in total. Scotland has won five games, compared to the Springboks' 23 victories.
