The Fijian Drua will battle against Major League Rugby side Rugby Football Club LA in the pre-season trial match. This will be the first time a Major League Rugby (MLR) team plays against a Super Rugby team. The match will kick off on 24 January 2025 at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji. Christian Leali’ifano, a former player for the Wallabies and Samoa, is the star player in the RFCLA team. He joined them for the new season after finishing his time with Moana Pasifika.

The team also includes former Red Dane Zader and several talented players from the Shute Shield, like Randwick captain Ben Houston. The team is coached by Dave Dennis and Stephen Hoiles, who are both legends from the Waratahs.
